The Evaluation of Equivalent Axle Load Equation Based on Deflection Value before and after Overlay Flexible Pavement

Abstract Some of the factors causing early damage to Indonesia’s flexible pavement system in Indonesia were allegedly caused by several things, including Equivalent axle load (EAL) equation incompatible with situation where most heavy vehicles carry overloaded loads. One effort that can be done avoid severe road is overlaid pavement. It suspected overlay on will affect shape EAL equation. This paper discuss before and after measuring deflection’s value using a falling weight deflectometer (FWD). The data obtained form deflection then analyzed regression analysis method permanent deformation theory approach. From research analysis, it power rank for applying maximum limit regulation type tandem dual wheel (TADW) shall follow determined single (SADW).
